If your shower is not producing steam when it should do, there are several things to check. - Check the cold water supply. Make sure your shower is working and that the cold water is not being blocked by debris or slipped washers.
- There are two safety switches on the steam generator, check these have not tripped, and that are pushed in. This will usually only happen the first time the steam generator is turned on, and should not trip every time.
- The solenoid valve may have failed. This is an electronically controlled valve that lets the correct amount of water into the generator. If this is failing, then no water is fed into the box to create steam. This will need replacing.
- Check the display. If you can turn on the steam function, and then it errors, this is not the problem. If there is no display at all, or the buttons don’t light up, then they will need replacing. This is very uncommon.
- After checking all of this, you may need to replace the filter. The steam technology is similar to a kettle. If you live in a hard water area, you may have a build up on the element. Symptoms are slow steaming time and a noticeable decrease in temperature from new.
