- The Aqua-Grade Floor Former

Aqua-Grade provides a controlled gradient to work to, by simply filling the floor former with screed then trowelling over the profile - simple as that. Once the mix has set or fully dried, the top surface can be tanked then tiled or overlaid with waterproof vinyl flooring.

Aqua-Grade is made from colour-coded modular sections that click together to form a grid-like structure. By simply adding or removing more sections the final shower area can be made as large or small as desired.

Aqua-Grade is available in 8 pre-set size options and is supplied boxed, in kit form.

Step 1

Fit the 4 supporting feet and mounting plates to the 600mm square section and offer it into position marking the location of the feet and waste trap aperture onto the sub-floor. Drill and fit rawl plugs into the sub-floor where you have marked the position for the feet.

Step 2

Chase out the sub-floor to allow for the fitting of the waste trap and drainage pipe work.

Step 3

Install the trap and pipe work, then screw the mounting plates to the 600mm centre section into position. Ensure the section is level on all 4 sides by adjusting each foot individually using a screwdriver.

Step 4

Fit supporting feet to each of the remaining colour sections and begin to assemble the rest of the Aqua-Grade sections - clicking them into place. Ensure each section is level along its length.

Step 5

When the matrix is complete fit the floor drain central dish and the protective trap cover to prevent mortar from entering the trap during screeding.

Step 6

Fill the Aqua-Grade matrix using a fairly wet mix with rapid setting cement 4 parts sharp sand - 1 part rapid cement.

Step 7

Ensure that the mix is well packed into the Aqua-Grade matrix and that there are no voids left underneath.

Step 8

Float over the surface so that the ridges of the Aqua-Grade are just visible through the screed. Allow the mix to dry sufficiently before applying any load or removing the shutter boards for the laying of the surrounding floor.
