In 1968, Candido Jacuzzi brought to market the first self-contained, fully integrated whirlpool bath by incorporating jets into the sides of the tub. Dubbed the 'Roman Bathtub,' the jets used a 50-50 air/water ratio to improve the experience. The Jacuzzi became a symbol of a luxurious lifestyle. Hundreds of thousands of Jacuzzi portables were installed, both indoors and outdoors, at recreation centers and private homes. Hollywood celebrities began making personal use of them.
Although a break through in whirlpool baths the initial concept was slightly flawed in its use of air/water that created more of a sensation as opposed to a new Springwave whirlpool bath that actually offers a deep hydro massage, also the air being mixed with the water meant that the temperature of the bath quickly dropped, there were also issues with bacteria build up over time, that meant black bits of bacteria constantly floated in the water, these problems have since been taken care of and in a new Springwave whirlpool bath system, which uses exclusive patented technology you will not have these old historic problems.
